Deep Dish Dungeon Cooking

Food is progress here — the game says it outright. These three pages cover what cooks, what unlocks, and what rots.

The Steam description puts it plainly: "Remember that food is progress." Meals are not a survival chore bolted onto a dungeon crawler; they are the stat system. Every dish raises a different combination of health and stamina, and a few add effects that change how a room plays.

The three pages

  • Recipes — the eight stations and the anvil, what each one is for, and the rule that decides which dish a pot actually produces.
  • Corn — the four places wild corn turns up, the two recipes that need it, and the patch that stopped corn from unlocking anything.
  • Cooking Table — how to unlock it after patch 1.0.50.0, how fuel burns, and the three spoilage rates.

Read this before you follow any cooking guide

Before 21 October 2026, picking up Wild Corn unlocked the Cooking Table. Patch 1.0.50.0 changed the prerequisite to Leather. Several large guides still print the old rule without a version note, which is why players keep hunting corn for a station that will not appear.

What is actually shared, and what is not

Recipe unlocks are per player, not per save. If a friend never picked up leather or the first hammer, their crafting menu stays empty for that item even inside your world. Hand them the material once and the unlock lands on their character, not on the lobby.

Spoilage is the other thing worth knowing early: chests and station slots run at roughly twenty minutes per item, a Food Basket stretches that to about an hour, and the Sorting Box or the floor stops the clock entirely.
